Not all service positions are filled at all times.
Rather, we try to be constantly
aware of the needs of the
group (and it's members) and step forward
to meet them as they arise.
It has been our experience that some
service positions do entail some authority
and can contribute to an "expanding ego".
We try to avoid this through our
practice of sharing all service
positions with all group members.
In the belief that being "a part of" is extremely important, we
ensure that all men in the group are given the opportunity
to serve in every available position. That implies that sometimes,
the coffee maker is a tea drinker and the butt can man is a non-smoker.
In our experience, this helps each of us to learn new things and to grow in humility.
